Well it's been quite awhile, eh?

Let's just get right to it.

Here's my 5 cents worth of the whole Osama mourning / no mourning? Is it okay to celebrate his killing or is that 'unchristian-like'.

Yeah it's too bad he had to lose his life, but he was the mastermind behind thousands of lives lost. Kinda goes back to the death penalty debate. Welp, I am for it. If some person came in your home and killed your family, wouldn't you be glad / relieved the day of (if) he got the death penalty? Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be watching the execution cheering. I would be solemn. But inside your heart, there would be some peace and relief most likely. I would want that! That's Justice!

And, we're celebrating a job well done -- this war was put in play because of what this man planned for the destruction of our country to happen on 9.11.01. Our troops, all the men and woman who have served, fought, been away from their families, sacrificed so much- many their lives even- we celebrate a job well done - the purpose for the fight. Bin Laden was tagged as the one responsible for the 9-11 attacks.

Now i know full well this doesn't mean the war is over now. But don't you celebrate an item on the to-do list that is finally completed after being on there 9 years? Woohoo! The Americans executed (pardon the pun) what they set out to do!!

I feel like all these people who are woos-ing out on Osama's death... why would you mourn this guy's death? Claiming all this about peace and he was a human too. Kind of seems to cheapen all the lives lost in pursuing this mission - War on Terror, and all the lives lost on 9/11.

Quit trying to be so politically correct.

I feel like I'm being redundant in efforts of getting my point across! Death penalty! And if you're so concerned about his well being, just know the military gave him a proper muslim burial at sea. Body was cleansed & so forth. I personally don't feel he even deserved that. I mean, just toss his lifeless body over board and be done with it!

No, I'm not throwing a party with cake and balloons, but I will say feel happy about it. Our neighbors put up an American flag, and I put up ours too!

Had to get my thoughts out on this one because I actually was somewhat appalled at people--mainly just in the Christian circles by how much they were condemning those who were in the streets celebrating the victory of what the troops did.

However, I was pleased to see the unity that did occur-- Democrats/Republicans, etc. weren't so divided. And for once I didn't mind listening to Obama talk about such things.

And let me just say this: I've seen a lot of people trying to get their view points across indirectly by posting scripture verses about not celebrating your enemies death & whatever. Well I came across Psalm 54 a few nights ago.

ok, while I'm not in favor of my blog being taken over by email forwards, I've either been too busy, too lazy, or too out of touch with the news lately to be writing my own stuff... thus, a quick read on a forward, which I agree with, so why not post. Hope I don't loose any credibility.
The following is directly from an email forward. take it or leave it.

So, Let's Recap--
1. The American people elect a black president with a total of 142 days experience as a US Senator from the most politically corrupt state in America whose governor is ousted from office. The President's first official act is to order the close of Gitmo and make sure terrorists civil rights are not violated.
2. The U.S. Congress rushes to confirm a black Attorney General, Eric Holder, whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo Terrorists. (An honest mistake!)
3. The CIA Boss appointee, Leon Panetta, has absolutely no experience, has a daughter Linda, we find out, who is a true radical anti-American activist and a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the western hemisphere. (There were socio-economic factors involved!)
4. We got the second most corrupt female (Pelosi is #1) in America as Secretary of State; bought and paid for. (You can put lipstick on a pig, but it still says oink!)
5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who did not properly file his own taxes for 12 years. (He misspoke!)
6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges. (Another honest mistake???)
7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under charges. (Hmmm... another screw-up?)
8. A Labor Sec'y nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical conduct. (Ok, maybe this person was just plain stupid)
9. A Sec'y HHS nominee (Daschle) who withdrew under charges of cheating on his taxes. (I'm running out of excuses for these idiots!!)
10. Multiple appointments of former lobbyists after an absolute campaign statement that no lobbyists would be appointed. And that's just during the first three weeks... but who's counting?

America is being run by the modern-day Three Stooges ~ Barrack, Nancy and Harry ~ and they are still trying to define stimulus..."it's spending!!!"...

The congress passes the $800,000,000,000 (that's $800 billion) pork-loaded spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of your tax dollars ($13 per week), making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated] ,that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV and go home and watch Telemundo! Only in America , what a country...
Pray for our country... Here's the good news though... Obama took Air Force One to Denver to sign the stimulus package, wasting as much as 10,000 gallons of fuel FOR 24 JOBS FOR ONE YEAR. Don't you just love this guy?

Speaking of praying, Obama has now been president for eleven Sundays and yet he & wife, Michelle have not attended church since the inauguration He must really miss Reverend Wright!

Very Interesting questions

While I've little interest in getting in the middle of the Obama birth issue, Paul Hollrah over at FSM did so yesterday and believes the issue can be resolved by Obama answering one simple question:

What passport did he use when he was shuttling between New York, Jakarta, and Karachi?

So how did a young man who arrived in New York in early June 1981, without the price of a hotel room in his pocket, suddenly come up with the price of a round-the-world trip just a month later?

And once he was on a plane, shuttling between New York, Jakarta, and Karachi, what passport was he offering when he passed through Customs and Immigration?

The American people not only deserve to have answers to these questions, they must have answers. It makes the debate over Obama's citizenship a rather short and simple one.

Q: Did he travel to Pakistan in 1981, at age 20?
A : Yes, by his own admission.

Q: What passport did he travel under?
A: There are only three possibilities.
1) He traveled with a U.S. Passport,
2) He traveled with a British passport, or
3) He traveled with an Indonesia passport.

Q: Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981?
A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department's "no travel" list in 1981.
Conclusion: When Obama went to Pakistan in 1981 he was traveling either with a British passport or an Indonesian passport.

If he were traveling with a British passport that would provide proof that he was born in Kenya on August 4, 1961, not in Hawaii as he claims.
And if he were traveling with an Indonesian passport that would tend to prove that he relinquished whatever previous citizenship he held, British or American, prior to being adopted by his Indonesian step-father in 1967.

Whatever the truth of the matter,the American people need to know how he managed to become a "natural born" American citizen between 1981 and 2008.

Given the destructive nature of his plans for America, as illustrated by his speech before Congress and the disastrous spending plan he has presented to Congress, the sooner we learn the truth of all this, the better.

Hola peoples.

It's been awhile, eh? yep. I've been busy. ...moving to California! woohoo. back to the motherland. I'm enjoying it.

Since coming out here I have learned & experienced a few firsts:

how to drive a stick shift (very excited about that.) I drive it every day & I rock, thank you.
indoor rock climb (they say I'm a natural?)
Went to Yosemite National Park (soo pretty!)
went on my first hike
Climbed Half Dome. (wow, Tough! but I loved it.)
Went to San Francisco, loved it. (which I still can't spell correctly)
learning all new things for a new job
learning my way around a brand new town

So yay for me. Oh, and of course I've met many new people and have learned lots of names & faces.

San Francisco

So let me tell you about Half Dome!!! It was incredible. For me, it was like going to Disneyland as a kid. The experience has stayed with me.

Half Dome is a high point in Yosemite at 8,842 ft elevation. The hike that we did in one day had a 4,800 ft climb in elevation. We took the John Muir Trail up and the Mist Trail down. So our hike was 15.35 miles (from the trail head).

Below is some info from this site. They suggest taking a gallon of water for this hike.

Hike Distance: 14.2 miles (22.7 km) round trip via Mist Trail
16.5 miles (26.5 km) round trip via John Muir Trail
20 miles (32 km) round trip via Glacier Point
23 miles (37) km round trip via Tenaya Lake
7 miles (11 km) round trip from Little Yosemite Valley campground

Half Dome Elevation: 8,842 feet (2,650 meters)
Total Elevation Gain: 4,800 feet (1,600 meters) from Yosemite Valley

Hiking Time: 10 - 14 hours

Difficulty: Extreme. It's long, steep at the beginning and end, and more dangerous than most Yosemite hikes. It's probably the most difficult of all Yosemite day hikes. On the traditional 1 to 10 scale, this one rates an 11.

That site also tells the number of fatalities that have occured on Half Dome.

Just 2 weeks after I had been up, 2 people died up there in one week. Here's one story. And another story with an eye witness testimony which also reported 10 to 12 people die in Yosemite each year.

It took me forever just to get this written because I had so much information I wanted to share. But I was getting tired of not getting this posted. So here it is. (It only took me 2 weeks to finishing what I started on this post!)

Living so close to Yosemite, I am very hopeful to get over there again to spend more time, get many more pictures and see the huge sequoias.

Oh yeah, here is some wildlife we saw that day.

The bear was in the parking lot. He/she just snagged an abandoned cooler. A couple guys scared him off yelling "go bear go!" The deer was super close on the trail. And of course, lots of squirrels and such. Below is not a blue jay but a steller's jay (news to me.) He wanted our snacks. To the left of that this furry creature resides at the very top of half dome! Kind of a desolate place to live, but he has many visitors! He is a marmot.

It was a great trip, and I would do it again, for sure.

The Bill was introduced to the floor of the House of Representatives where both Republicans and this bill's title is called “Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education” (GIVE). It forms what some are calling “Obama’s Youth Brigade.” Obama’s plan is require anyone receiving school loans and others to serve at least three months as part of the brigade. His goal is one million youth! This has serious Nazi Germany overtones to it. The Bill would forbid any student in the brigade to participate in “engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.”
That means no church attendance or witnessing. Again, is this what America voted for?

SEC. 1304. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AND INELIGIBLE ORGANIZATIONS.
Section 125 (42 U.S.C. 12575) is amended to read as follows:

At least the governor of NY gave a better message of consolation.
So the taleban call BBC to [sounds like, proudly] take ownership for this act by an asian. (?...huh)

Pakistani Taleban leader Baitullah Mehsud called the BBC in Islamabad to claim responsibility for the attack.

Kind of convenient too, hmm, that Obama was "out of town" ... easy excuse and good timing for it.

This cannot be good. I don't agree with Obama's negotiations (aka: rolling over on his back) with Hamas, and other Iranian groups.

The US, EU and UN will not deal with Hamas, which seized the Gaza Strip in 2007, unless they reject violence and recognise Israel.
Hamas's charter calls for the destruction of Israel, although the group has also offered a long-term truce if Israel withdraws to its pre-5 June 1967 borders.

It just seems like "dealing with the devil" to me.

Here's an email forward that's going around.
If you're disgusted by abortion, read on. You may want to do this. I just caught Huckabee on a tv show on Friday and I didn't catch the details, but he was saying how a mother's womb is the most dangerous place for a child to be. More children (or people in general?) die from abortion then any other cause of death. That really puts it in perspective.
I've always hated the idea of abortion (and the practice of it). Adoption is ALWAYS an option. An innocent baby, no matter the condition, should not have it's life taken away from it. This deeply grieves me.

So here's the email:
Basically they ask you to send an empty red envelope to the new President to represent a baby's life that's been taken. In all honesty I doubt that this or anything done would change his stance on abortion, because he is all for it like cheese on crackers, but might as well voice our opinions and try.
Those of you that don't know me who read this, I haven't ever protested against abortion, and I am not the type to go crazy and malicious on those that do get abortions. here's a link to a sermon that said it well ("Children Blocking" 1/18/09). Sure the action of abortion is not good, but as Christians, we will put our arms around those who are hurting from the experience of it and we believe Jesus can heal their heart from the grief, hurt and guilt that follows.

Dear Friends:
This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind began to wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that President Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he signed executive orders releasing funds to pay for abortions, permission to fund human stem cell research, and federal funding for contraception. I have been involved in the pro-life movement for nearly 20 years, and it pained my heart to see a man and a political party committed to the shedding of innocent blood. This man, and this party lead our country, but they do not represent me or the 54% of Americans who believe that abortion is wrong and should no longer be legal.

As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out in the garage I have a box of red envelopes. Like the powerful image of the red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue. It will be quiet, but clear.

Here is what I would like you to do:
Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at party supply stores. On the front, address it to the president.

On the back, or on a note inside, write the following message. "This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty because that life was unable to offer anything to the world. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for every child who died before having a chance to live. Maybe it will change the heart of the president.

We should all try to mail them on the same day so they arrive within a day or two of each other and be even more of a visual at the White House. With Valentine's Day past red envelopes should be easy to come by too. Say we all mail them on the weekend of Feb 28-March 1st. That gives us time to pass the word as far and wide as we can. Of course, you can send a red envelope anytime you want, but getting lots at once is great too.

Andy's Custard II

I've just got to say how impressed I am with this cute little-not-so-little anymore company, Andy's Frozen Custard.
I enjoyed their goods and services while I was in college. That was a prime thing to do in little Springfield. Anytime college kids would go out on the town the hit food stops were either Krispy Kreme for free donuts, or Andy's. And for some girls it never came off from that freshman-15. And to my surprise, shock and amazement, they opened one up here in IL, like 15... 20 mins from my house. Hey that's close enough!
So I contacted the company via their website and I actually got a response back, a personal email, they thanked me, were very gracious, and I got a free andy's treat out of it!
Their customer service is one of the best, and I'm thoroughly impressed. They truly care about customer satisfaction and want to make sure you have an enjoyable time, and enjoy their product. (of which they are confident, and so am I, that once you try it you can't go back to chain custard places.)
They grew from a one store in a mom and pop-- I've actually talked with the owner--down to earth, just an all around good ol' boy. Who is really passionate about this product and brand that his dad started in the 80s in the Ozarks. I think they've done a great job expanding the business so far, and according to the group 'fan of Andy's Frozen Custard' on facebook, there are a lot of people calling for it in California! maybe that'll be their next custard-plant. I don't know.
I just had to give a huge shout-out / give out props / 5 stars to Andy's Frozen Custard. Not only good stuff - truly, but great service that starts from the very top. They aim to please, and they do.
Thank you Andy's for a great American product I am glad to support.

Now I really am not intending to turn this into a Obama-hatin blog. ...no, really.
What I want to do is call attention to a lot of these issues Obama stands for that I feel have gotten swept under the rug.
Is it really just because he's black that he was rushed to the front of the celebrity hoop-la? His socialist and very liberal views surely can't agree with 80% of Americans.
Now keep in mind, I am currently temporarily stuck in the Chicago area, of which they have at least 3 stories about Obama on each newscast. It makes me want to barf. I don't care how Michelle does her hair or who is making decorations for the "obama bus" to Washington DC for the inauguration.
His campaign p.u.s.h. (pardon the pun) was "hope" ... well I'm not feeling very hopeful.
I disagree with many of his views: his lack of urgency to fight the terrorism, his willingness to allow any abortion possible, his lack of experience(!), his ease of flip-flopping. Talking out of both sides of his mouth, just to have the support of anyone. And then there are his known relations that he tried to deny and sweep under the rug as if it's not a big deal to been in close proximity & work with William Ayers, known terrorist. Michelle's college thesis sure said a lot of how 'patriotic' she is [not].

It's a lot of hype, and I don't buy into it. I have a lot of reservations about this one. Lets all just watch and see. He can't even pick someone suitable for the positions a president-elect chooses.

As I come across more scripture explaining Jesus is THE only Savior, he died on the cross for our sins and no one else has done what he did to take away the sins of the world, I will have to write down the reference so I can give you a link here. The virgin birth was non-mistakable and can not be re-done. Prophesy was fulfilled. And no one can try to repeat that, not even be a runner-up. Not even any loosely suggested, far-strung attempts at making a connection between Obama and savior-like speech.

Why did NBC cut out reporting commentary after Bush's final address to the plane crash? It was 7:15pm, and they had already reported about the crash during the earlier newscasts. Don't get me wrong--I am super glad every single person survived; the pilot did an awesome job of saving thousands of lives. It was what could have been quite disastrous, but he really did an incredible job of landing the plane. (picture from reuters.com)

I just want to point out the blatant and obvious (to me) one-sided bias stance the media (major networks) takes in politics and reporting-- from newspapers to magazines like Time (Obama is on it for the 14th time), People, GQ, Vanity Fair, Men's Vouge, Rolling Stone ... Newsweek, Wired, Vibe, it's a celebrity status people are loathing all over him. Why? I do not see any other reason than because of his race. I don't get it. He doesn't have enough experience to even be his own body guard. I personally, would like to see a tribute to Bush on a cover. And would have to add it should be tastefully done. Sad that would need to be said, but I'm not sure they would give him due credit. The man did a great job, he deserves huge props, and a lot of respect. I could go on...

Also, I will point out Obama's old '07 Chrysler 300 (with major bling wheels) is up on ebay for ONE MILLION DOLLARS. US News & World Report link here's a clip:

Playback 8 years ago: let's review what it was like when the Clinton's left the White House. They took all the W's off of the keyboards, pasted things onto the desks, stole a bunch of stuff, cleaned out and trashed Air Force One.
I know the Bush's are classy people and that is a very important quality for the leader of our country to possess. Because they live public relations for that term, and shmoozing doesn't always work for all cultures. But a true genuine spirit and kindness can be identified no matter the language barrier.

Bush will be missed. I felt safe knowing he was our Commander in Chief.

This makes me upset as well: Geithner neglected to pay his taxes from '01 - '07 is NOT an "honest mistake" and Obama wants to elect him for the top tax guy to lead the Treasury Department? Are you kidding me? That's hypocrisy! People would easily say, "If he didn't pay his taxes, why should I?" That's so messed up. Where's the integrity?

What I get irritated and irked by is the double standards. It's exactly what Representative Steve King, Congressman from Iowa stated when he was on Hannity 1.16.09. Democrats flip out and have tantrums over things Repulicans do/say. But then, when they go and do the same thing -- why is it okay then?
I'm not a big "Republican vs. Democrat" (I'm not hung up on titles) what I care about are the issues, be fair, call it like it is, treat people the way you would want to be treated. I just don't get the double standards, and I don't like it much.
Just like Andrea Tantaros said later on the show during the Great American Panel "is that what Obama is bringing us? 'Common mistakes'?" You bet it sends a message to the citizens of the United States. How do you expect to reinforce: No one is above the law.

To supporters of President-elect Barack Obama, he is an orator gifted with a silver tongue, JFK reincarnated. We received two disturbing examples over the weekend that suggest his learning curve could be steeper than previously thought.

At a Friday press conference, President-elect Obama was asked if he had reached out to ex-presidents for their advice and counsel. Obama responded, “I have spoken to all of them who are living. I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances.” Nancy Reagan never held séances. It was Hillary Clinton who claimed she had “conversations” with Eleanor Roosevelt. Obama reportedly called Nancy Reagan to apologize for his “careless and offhanded remark.” Obama aides said the conversation went well, but aides to Mrs. Reagan suggest otherwise.

Here is a far more serious example. Last week, the president of Poland called Obama to offer his congratulations and seek reassurances that the United States would not abandon its commitment to deploy a missile defense system in Poland. Even with Russia threatening them, the Poles are still seeking U.S. leadership and support.

After their conversation, President Kaczynski released a statement that read, “Barack Obama has underlined the importance of the strategic partnership between Poland and the United States, he expressed his hope of continuing the political and military cooperation between our two countries. He also said the anti-missile shield project would go ahead.” But on Saturday, Obama’s senior foreign policy advisor said, “President Kaczynski raised missile defense but President-elect Obama made no commitment on it.”

This is a very disturbing development. When you start making ambivalent statements to heads of state, you are inviting aggression. The world is still a very dangerous place, and our allies must be able to trust us.

Sarah’s Supporters Speak

Campaign aides who worked closely with Governor Sarah Palin are coming to her defense. And unlike the cowards who have anonymously attacked her in the media, Sarah’s supporters are speaking on the record. Here are some quotes from a Politico story this weekend:

* Steve Biegun, a foreign policy advisor who traveled with Palin, said, “I think she was fantastic. She just brought a special energy to our ticket. Look, I was there at those rallies. … I’ve worked in Washington for 20 years, on the Hill, in the White House and in the private sector, and she ranks at the highest levels of decency, kindness and graciousness of anybody I’ve ever worked with.”

* Nicolle Wallace, a senior adviser to McCain told NBC that Palin was “perhaps the most un-diva politician I’ve seen. The only thing I’ve seen her ask for is a diet soda.”

* Tracey Schmitt, a veteran of both Bush campaigns, said, “Gov. Palin was a breath of fresh air, particularly for those of us who've been living in the Washington bubble… She was tireless on the stump and would have shaken every hand on the rope line if there were time.”

* One Capitol Hill McCain aide pointed out that there is a reason Palin has an 80% approval rating in Alaska.

“Change The Face Of World Politics And Economics”

During the campaign, Joe Biden warned, “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama. …we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.” We may not have to wait six months. There are various overseas reports that Al Qaeda is planning a major terrorist attack against the United States – one which will “outdo by far” the atrocities of 9/11 with the objective being to “change the face of world politics and economics.”

This could be a bluff by an organization on the ropes, reeling from a defeat in Iraq, under siege in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it would also be consistent with past Al Qaeda behavior of striking during times of political transition and testing new leaders early. Also consistent with Al Qaeda tactics would be hitting the same targets, suggesting another attack on New York and Washington, D.C., which would symbolically threaten the “face of world politics and economics.”

The General stated to the Senator that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171... During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. At the very least, 'Stand and Face It.' Senator Obama replied, "As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides, there are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it. We should consider to reinvent our National Anthem as well as to redesign our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we as a Nation of warring people, should conduct ourselves as the nations of Islam, whereas peace prevails, perhaps a state or period of mutual concord between our governments. And, taking sides? uh, because becoming president isn't taking sides? Just what are your plans?

Secondly, who in their right mind would say "sure, the president of my country doesn't have to salute our flag. That's just an old tradition." Now that is politically incorrect. But it seems the media and the left has it the other way around(?)

Barack Obama says he's gonna go out and campaign in 57 states!? He was just tired, you know, it's been such a long campaign, he's been so many places, he probably thinks there are 57 states.

Well, I have here a printout from a web site called the International Humanist and Ethical Union.

And here is how the second paragraph of an article on that website begins.

'Every year from 1999 to 2005 the organization of the Islamic conference representing the 57 Islamic states presented a resolution to the United Nations Commission on human rights called commbating.'

Obama said he's going to campaign in 57 states, and it turns out that there are 57 Islamic states.

There are 57 Islamic states!

Seriously people. Obama is and has socialist views & values.

It hit me tonight when I saw him on The Factor talking with Bill O'Reilly (Part 2 of their conversation). It came clear when Bill was calling him on his socialist views, then when Obama-your-mama (it's after Bill mentions 'income redistribution') says, "look at what happened in Bejing. These folks are building and we got sewer lines that are crumbling and at a certain point we've got to pay for it." DIRECT QUOTE. (he's very impressed with Beijing's infrastructure.) He was idealizing the way things are in Beijing, China ... (and they're COMMUNIST!!!)

O'Reilly: "Both senators Obama and McCain are promising to heal the economy."... "McCain supports tax cuts-- the trickle down approach. Obama wants the government to stimulate the economy from the bottom up." (direct quote right before the viewing of Pt.2)

The big idea here is if you make less money and I make more I should be "neighborly" and give my money to you. That is the opposite of capitalism where you work hard and earn your own buck. So, the US has repair problems in our country, here's his solution: 'let's take money from the rich people, give it to the poor so we can even it out for everyone.'

he's basically saying you make enough money you rich people, I'm going to turn it into taxes and use it for the country. so what keeps the rich from thinking, "why work hard then if i'm going to have to give away the money I earn?"

Let it be known I am not even close to being in the rich category... I'm far from it.

keep in mind, too that he is the most liberal senator. WHY? Democrats, why would you elect your most liberal for the Commander in Chief?! find some middle ground.

btw, Obama is shakin in his boots now that Palin is on the board! my thoughts after seeing him on the show tonight:

- obama has control issues. telling Bill "go ahead" -- when Bill is the interviewer, and "let me finish Bill."

- I love it how Bill calls him on his fumbling.

I thought Bill was very fair. Within the first minute Obama starts off pretty agreeable with O'Reilly.

Notice his very correct pronunciation of the taliban and pakistan and other muslim names. Shows he cares to not mis-pronounce their names, and shows he has been with them (as we all know)

Also, notice his body language when Bill O'Reilly asks him "Do you believe we are in a war on terror?" Obama: "yes." O'Reilly: "Who's the enemy?" Obama looks down before he says Al Qaeda... it's in the first 45 seconds of the video.

There's no doubt McCain knows what he's talking about, he certainly has the experience, has the heart and truely cares about our country. The same goes for Sarah Palin!

The 2008 Olympics in Beijing are in full swing, and I can't take my eyes off the tv! I always have enjoyed watching the Olympics. Not only because it's inspiring, and the feeling of pride for your country, but I guess what gets me most are the opening ceremonies - where literally the world comes together. I know not every single country is represented, but so many are -- all standing on the same floor. It's incredible to me. (and of course Beijing's was amazing to watch.)
I have liked watching the swimming and gymnastics events. I was on the swim team in high school, so it makes it that much more interesting. I also did track in junior high. That's always loaded with excitement to watch.
I would absolutely love to go to the Olympics some year. That would be pretty cool.

Gym

I haven't enjoyed going to the gym lately. a home gym is sounding really nice. (if i only had the thousands of dollars to make that a reality!)

At the gym: getting checked out is nice for my ego, but kind of gets tiresome. all the smells aren't too inspiring. the stuffy, musty air. the blaring music (someone elses' picks, not mine),

Working out is kind of a personal thing. and to have to do it with many 'bored' eyes watching. Plus all that you do see (and never ever wanted to see). if i had one

of these (flip video) boy, i'd have some funny clips to post on you tube.

i enjoy working out. i do not enjoy battling the congested traffic just to get there. today it took me 13 mins to drive 3.3 miles to the gym. ridiculous. at the gym: all the smells, all the possible diseases passed, (skin diseases? yuck!) sharing of machines. broken treadmills that sound like you're dragging a pig behind you or something. vying for my turn on the chest press, the gym's music picks that are blaring over the speakers. many many reasons why i just don't enjoy my visits there.

oh well it's better than passing out in the heat+humidity deadly combo IL has going for it.

it's funny to me how long some people keep a contact in their phone. Me? I delete them kinda quickly. No one lingers who doesn't belong on my phone. if you're on my phone then you have 'status' with me. (and those of you know who you are!) I know i have the ability to have 99 contacts, but I like to keep it cleaned up. b/c I'm just like that, tidy. it makes life simpler. I just got a text recently from someone i haven't seen or spoken to in a year. lucky for anyone who's ever been a contact of mine (aren't you so "special") that i do hang on to the number. i save it in my computer. so i had to look up who this random texter was from. This happened another time, she was a good friend of mine in college. I had no idea she still maybe considered me a friend. so one night i got a text from her. and i actually wrote back and said "who is this?" no, i didn't get a reply. but i did eventually find her number and figure out who it was. i kind of felt bad. (Congrats on the marriage Jackie!)

so speaking of, i do think fondly on all past and old friendships I've had. I will just take the time to say you know who you are -- good friends of mine. I do think fondly on all my past friendships. Moving, and moving and .... moving has separated me from many that I never wanted to be separated from. As well as just life changes, including the non-expected changes. including the unfair changes. From people i used to work with, to people from various churches, to friends from school. ode to all my friends. keep in touch on facebook. i really never have wanted to say bye.

I've had fun watching the show "wipeout" on abc. it's on Tuesday evenings. I've missed a few shows and actually have gone onto abc's website to watch them online. they're good for a good laugh! The announcers are absolutely hilarious and totally make the show. Jill (the spokesperson for Mercury) is funny to watch her down on the course laughing at the contestants, too.

I like music. No, I love music. maybe obsessed. I have 5,701 songs in my itunes and 138 items waiting to join the group in my itunes shopping cart. (That is $127.88 just incase you're wondering and want to drop that money in my lap, which would make me very happy.) Anyway, what I'm introducing is the music I've added to my page. I spent an entire evening adding 54 songs. I'm tired but I don't want to stop, b/c i like music. and it's fun. Music can energize me, it can soothe, it can be that 'sweet spot' when you've got that one song in your head and just can't wait to turn on the stereo and crank that song.

well, it's time for my 10 year high school reunion. I can't believe I'm that old! I actually have the choice of going to 3 different reunions. My first high school I went to until I was a junior. Second high school was junior to first month of senior year, then we moved to IL, where I went til I finished. I'm for sure not going to my IL high school reunion, b/c I knew no one. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to Bismarck, ND or to Seattle. It would be fun to see my old friends though.

church shopping

upon our quest to find a church to attend...

there are a few elements of a church that really stand out to me after a visit, and just thought I'd share...

the main one is friendliness. --how friendly a church is. Many times in a service there will be a brief moment to turn around and greet the people sitting around you. At one church, I was quite disgusted because I had actually been there 3 other times previously and not ONE person said hi or greeted me from the time when I walked in the doors to when I walked out. I left with a feeling of "would any of them even care that I just went to their church?" Another church stands out in my memory. I've gone twice, and both times (someone actually shook hands with me during 'greet time') but the overall feel of the rest of the people was stuck up and unfriendly. That is not something that attracts me to a church! This past time I was by myself, and lingered in the lobby quite awhile, and no one even said a hi. One person smiled at me, later, looking at the visitor brochures, I discover he's on staff. (score: one point)

Secondly what I find important is the speaking (preaching). It's got to have substance, make me think and be challenging. It's tough to beat what I've grown up with-- my Dad, an awesome speaker, always has a great substance-filled messages with a good action step at the end. (As well as my brother, I might add, who also grew up hearing my father.)

Thirdly, and very close to second, is the worship. I've got to have the urge to "tap my foot." Good music quality, and the vocals have to be at least on key(!) with a presence on the stage, worshiping, not up there just to observe "who's here at church today?"

I'm not new at church shopping, I've done it another time. These are some thoughts that have conjured up in my head. I just thought I'd share for any pastors or whoever to read.

I enjoy listening to Music Thru the Night. I remember listening to it with my sister 15 years ago when we would be getting ready for bed in the bathroom on 104.7 KNDR.

Mike Kellogg has such a cool voice. The show comes on at midnight and plays all through the night (thus, Music thru the night).

I always thought (from his voice) that he was so much older, but if you look at his picture, he doesn't look as old as I thought.

I caught the show last night, and realized I hadn't listened to it for awhile. It's just like a staple.

gym pet peeves

annoyances at the gym:

when people have loud conversations either while on treadmills or just standing there. (especially when they carry on for a few minutes!)
loud music overhead, to where i can't even hear my mp3.
annoying music overhead
when my mp3 runs out of battery. and i just can't finish running w/o my music!
strong "burly" man (aka steroids?) who thinks he's the only one there, either singing out loud with his mp3 or making all sorts of noises. (you know what i mean)
all the testosterone
when people are on the treadmill, and have the incline up to about 10, and are holding on for dear life to the top of the treadmill, all the while reading a magazine. (what good is it when you're hanging on to the treadmill like that?)
when people 'flatulate' next to you, then look around like, "was that you?"
when the heart rate monitors don't pick up your heart rate (those silver things you grip on the treadmill handles) or when you have to hold on to them forever and it's not reading. and then if it does, it says only like 50 ... while you're huffing & puffing, it's telling you you're not even in the cardiovascular zone! and you're thinking "yes i am!"

and WHY:

why do some people show up to the gym and actually go thru a whole work out wearing jeans? that does not make sense to me.
why (it seems quite counter-productive) watching someone get into their car or just before they get out of their car to go work out, suck on their last puff of cigarette or drink some pop. it's counter-productive people!!!

So in conclusion, working out is good. it's worth it. it makes you feel better after you work out, you get into shape. But I've got to say I think I'd much rather have my own gym at home.

my ring

Story time: Let me tell you why my ring is special to me.

About a year and a half ago, I was at work, performed my regular office duties, finished the work day then went to a local college in town to do my laundry. Sat in a friend's dorm room while my last load was drying. I glance at my hand and "huh?" then *Gasp!* a diamond is missing from my ring!!! ahh! My mind raced to think of all the places it could have fallen out: in the tub of the washer (it's gone for sure!) I retraced every step I had taken thru the dorm, out to my car, in my car, in my trunk, in my laundry basket. Sure it's a small diamond, but I can't afford to replace it... 'how much would a minuscule diamond cost?' Anyway, pretty discouraged and perplexed, I went home. (searched my apartment.... no luck). I think I called my parents. I prayed and prayed I'd find it.About a week later, I'm at work in the copy room, what else than making copies. I go to load more white paper, b/c that's what secretarial duties are don't-cha know. I notice there's something between the paper........ I lift a stack of about 75 pages of white copy paper from about 200 pages..... what is it?.... hmm, it looks like a diamond. I go around and ask all the married ladies on staff if they had lost a diamond from their ring. Then I think, could it be? I slipped it into the missing slot and... it fits. ..... MY DIAMOND! I could NOT believe it. I jumped up and down, squealed, thanked God over and over and then told everyone my amazing story.

So now if you catch me looking at my ring, not only am I admiring it, but I'm checking to make sure all diamonds are where they should be!

(this ring is my purity ring. I had picked it out fall of 03 at a JC Penny's. my previous purity ring was a $7 Avon book find that had become quite tarnished.)

This is my second football (soccer) post. I just have to say I love to watch it. I think it's the only sport that when I come across it on espn, I stop, sit and watch the whole game.
I love watching it. Right now I'm watching Italy vs. Romania Live! I feel so connected to the world, i love it.

What I like about soccer (football) is the clock only stops for halftime. it doesn't stop after someone has made a goal, or when the ball goes out of bounds or when someone is down. I like how there are no commercials. Both teams walk out at the same time at the beginning of the game. The energy of the game. I love how each player walks out holding a little kids' hand. (i'm writing this with my eyes on the tv. Romania's goalie is really good, but so is Italy's, Buffon.) I love how cultural it is. I guess I just need to save up some/ enough money to move overseas and live over there. The score is 1-1. Mutu (Romania) was upset he missed his penalty shot.
the game is just awesome b/c it's constantly going. if you take your eyes off it one second, you'll miss something. The game is appx 90 mins, unlike a football game in usa or basketball where a game can last up to 3+ hours.
When I went to England in '95 There was a huge football event going on, and one sunday everyone piled into a small living room to watch it, and it was such a big deal there. i didn't really get it, but i guess i do now.
I love how (most) all the guys are good sports. I know it's a culture thing, but it's how they hug or kiss their teammates on the cheek. the passion these guys have for the game is easy to see.

I think what all these games (on espn from 10am - 3pm about) are a battle for the world cup. I remember watching the 2006 world cup. I was routing for Italy and they won. I blogged about it on my yahoo blog.
ok, game's over I can concentrate on what I'm writing now. I also enjoy Andy Gray's commentary.
I once worked with a Brit who always had a game streaming in on his computer. Each time I'd go in the copy room to make a copy I'd ask what the score was. It's such a European thing.
I would also love to start/ learn to play soccer myself b/c i think i've got the power in my legs for it.

Andy's Frozen Custard!! yumm

I am psyched. I found out there is an Andy's Frozen Custard in IL!!! and only about 10-15 mins from me, none the less!
For those of you not from Springfield MO, Andy's Frozen Custard was started in MO, and apparently has recently branched out with franchising. They have awesome custard-- they are known for it. It's so good: creamy and delicious! (don't ask me to write your commercials, i'm obviously not doing a good job at describing how good it is. Just go and find out for yourself!) They totally beat out Culvers in my book.
Other than 8 spots in MO, they have 2 locations in Arkansas, one in Texas, and one in Illinois!
This IS the best custard. My absolute favorite is Choco-Rocko (their version of Rocky Road...but I always call it Rocko-Choco... i think it sounds better... actually I just can't remember which way it goes) and I sometimes splurge and get cookie dough on top! YESS! oh it's soo good. ....it's like a meal.

This is a Springfield icon. I attended college there for 3 years, and this is the spot to go. it's also how freshman girls earn their "freshman 15." (gaining 15 pounds for you who would think i'm referring to something else?) I have a lot of fun memories going to Andy's with friends, going on my birthday and taking a bazillion hilarious pictures with friends, and going with my Aunt, always her treat. It's just a fun place! you can go thru the drive thru or park and walk up to order and sit outside (there's no seating, so don't be offended, that's just how it is) and enjoy your goodness!

Now all we need is a Smoothie King (waaay better than Jamba Juice) and I won't have a reason to go back to Springfield, ever!

Lately another 'shot' was fired at my family. I am still surprised at the audacity they have to anonymously post such rude, hateful, completely unnecessary comments. I heard a sermon last Sunday about those who feed off of others who are "on full" b/c they are on empty. And at the end the pastor prayed for those who are on empty to get their straws out and detach from the people who are full and tap into God.
some people just have such disgust inside of them that they seek pleasure in sending stupid anonymous comments.

Very interesting what people say behind the "safety" of their computer screen vs. what they'd say to your face. oh I'd love to see some of these anonymous-ers try to say these things face to face with out a diaper on.

Mt. Everest

A recent visit to Colorado has "peaked" my interest in mountains. I have always loved the view of mountains and even better the view from the top. Hearing stories of hiking, climbers, and just the sight of the mountains makes me want to climb them myself.

I think mountains are one of the most beautiful creations God has given us (along with ocean/ waterfalls/ a field of wildflowers... etc.) I would absolutely love to climb a mountain. I don't care if I have to start out small with a hike to 9,000 feet or what, but this is something I've got to do in my lifetime. The Rocky Mountain range is beautiful. While in CO, Long's Peak has been in the forefront of my view. According to this site it is 14,255 feet tall. Which got me thinking how tall is Everest?

Check out these incredible facts. They blew my mind. Such an incredible feat that so many have conquered and unfortunately others have not. I could not imagine what that experience would do for your spiritual life. I'm sure I'd be that much more closer to my Creator even by the time I would make it to the base camp (which is just at 17,500 feet) for my perspective that is taller than Mt. Rainer (14,410 ft) and taller than Long's Peak (14,255 ft). Even if you set Long's Peak on top of Mt. Rainer, Mt. Everest has that beat still by 370 ft! That's huge!

I was having trouble with my computer. So I called Eric, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked him to come over. Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem.
As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong?' He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.' I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, 'An, ID ten T error? What's that? I had heard Steve Jobs' name (CEO, chairman and co-founder of Apple Inc., and founder of Pixar Animation Studios) twice the past few days, so I thought I would google his name to see a picture of him. I came across this video of him speaking at Stanford University Commencement in 2005.
I thought this was interesting, somewhat inspiring, and overall good enough to blog it.

It is true how we can only connect the dots when we are looking back.
I thought the worst line in the speech was "Death is very likely the single best invention of life." (12:10) I don't know though, the more I think of it...("it clears out the old to make way for the new" is somewhat true...) I wonder what God would think of that line. Let me hear your opinion! I used to really love to watch makeovers on TV. There used to be a show called "Ambush Makeover" I forget what channel had it on, I'm thinking upn or something. It was on a few years back came on during the day, it was a half hour show they did two makeovers, 15 mins each and they had 2-3 hours to makeover someone. They would literally 'ambush' someone on the street in Chicago, or LA... wherever, and give them a new outfit, new hair, new make up. and then the cameras would follow them when they would be finished and would be on their way to meet someone later for dinner or whatever.
Now, there's "Take Home Chef" with the "dreamy" chef __ what's his name? An Aussie who moved to England and worked in London a bit, now is doing this show for TLC in L.A.

Over a month ago, someone told me “nothing’s a secret.” At first I was surprised by what they were referring to, but then I thought, “Man, how true is that.” Whoever you are, we’re all in public light, big or little positions. Even if you lock yourself up in the house everyday, your neighbors will see you step out to get the mail! Ah! Unfortunately, I'm finding most everyone is interested in everyone else’s business.

This coined phrase leave Brittany alone made famous by the freak show on you tube, Chris Crocker (plus speech impediment) and get this, for the drama, he signed a TV deal

and no way, José, am I saying to leave Brittany spears alone. Unfortunately that girl has made many decisions that have put her where she is today; but enough on that piece of work.

First off, I can’t believe and am continually surprised how interested people are in other people's business.

Someone I work with seems to watch my every move just to have something to tattle about. Micromanager!!! I've worked for one or two before--what a drag. I think every workplace has these people. This irritates me like none other. I want to say to their face: "chill out, back off, mind your own business. You have issues."

So my version of “leave Brittany alone” is BACK OFF! and seriously, get a freaking life.

Why are some people so obsessed with the “bringing down” of others? Destruction, destroying a reputation with lies, gossip, cheating, fudging --slanderous. Of the 7 things listed in the Bible that God hates, gossip is among them. Proverbs 6. I just don’t get it! Is it hatred? Jealousy? Anger? Insecurity? I can’t understand the motive behind destructive plots to take someone out / bring someone down. Do you really have nothing better to do then to plan these strategies out?

Stop it! Get a life! Examine yourself. Are all your actions edifying to God? That day when God is the Judge, we will account for all our sin—and what will be your reasoning?

I'm tired of hearing of all the Obama hype & hoopla. All he says is "change ... change... change!" I don't hear anything else. All he gets people riled up about is vague "change." Well, what kind of change? At least all of the other candidates talk about specifics. He's full of hype. A great speaker... a lot of hype. Here are my major oppositions:
He insisted to put his hand on the Koran, and not the Bible when sworn in as Senator (as has been done since our country was founded! ..on Biblical principals!) I am sooo opposed to someone leading our country who attended muslim school, even if it was just a year or few years. none the less he was there!) I don't want someone with that kind of influence in their life (the same teaching given to him, as what the World Trade Center killers, the Pentagon and the crash in Pennsylvania were brainwashed with) to lead our country!

Some who read this may think I'm prejudice. Well, considering what happened on Sept. 11, 2001 I think I have a right for my antennas to be up on this. I also know there is a majority who will agree with me. AND in a speech he gave in Wisconsin, Feb 08, he brought up the war and said "it was a war we should have never fought." (WHAT?) just let them come on in & bomb our country with out fighting back? uh,.. NO!

Another big concern is that he has been a senator for only 1 year.
I don't have a good feeling about him at all. There's probably some big oil heir in Iran or somewhere who funds him. And eventually Obama will sell out the U.S.

Hillary? are you kidding me? NO way. nooooo way. Do you remember when the Clinton's moved out of the White House at the end of Bill's term? they cleared it out. like a bunch of hoodlums. I, personally, do not want a woman for a president. Especially Hillary.
I loved this clip on The Colbert Report. I have never really watched him before, but I was channel surfing, and stopped for the relevance of this!

That takes us to the Republican candidates. McCain? eh, sure, not my first choice. My pick would be Huckabee if he can swing it.

I love watching football (soccer). Even though I am an American it still seems proper to me to call it football. So pardon me, fellow Americans, I’ve just got to call soccer—football. (Even though I've grown up in a die-hard football family, I still love American football. ...this is getting too confusing.) I have found that can sit there and watch a whole match. The past couple days I’ve caught 2 games, and I know I have other things to do, but watching the football match takes precedence! My trips to England, Scotland and Portugal must have had an influence. I think it’s so cool to see such a universal sport. Anywhere you travel around the world you’ll see children, and big kids playing soccer/ football/ futbol. Even though I’ve never played (I always wished I had… anyone know any soccer leagues for women beginners?) I am catching on to the rules & penalties to the game, but overall it seems pretty simple.

So my wish is to someday attend a game in England or in Europe someday. The energy of the crowd would be exhilarating to be apart of—especially when it involves rivals, such as Manchester United ... Liverpool ... West Ham United... Birmingham. (actually I really have no clue who the main rivals are, I just know that when the rivals play, nothing else matters, but the game!)

I occasionally get emails from my Grandma and this time, I had to share it.

These poor pups. (yes, I still want a dog!) but other than the necessity for warmth in the winter time on a shaved dog, I would never dress it up. Thus, this website, These are your dogs and this is what they are thinking.

The poor pups that endure this. I mean seriously, the price that the owners dish out on pampering their dogs... could you donate that instead to my 'I need a new laptop' fund?

I haa-aa-ate cigarette smoking. It stinks! It’s a rude, inconsiderate thing: they toss the cigarettes out of their cars, etc, causing litter. When people smoke inside a restaurant it stinks up the whole place, it gets on your clothes, in your hair. UGH! It’s unwanted. If people wanted to stink like that they’d go stand by a smokers outpost. Thirdly, the smokers themselves reek of it, it emulates off of them, their breath, and it oozes out of their pores. And if you’re standing anywhere close to 3feet of them you smell it too. It’s all I can do to not cover my nose & mouth b/c when they speak out comes this choking smell that goes directly into my face and I’m tasting nicotine. YUCK! Noooo thank you! Sorry smokers, I understand it’s an addiction, but is it really worth the hefty penny?

It’s just the worst smell ever.
I am so sooo glad Illinois has finally decided to make restaurants smoke free as of Jan 1^st 08!! Yess!!!

So I'm watching the Charlie Brown special on TV "I want a dog for Christmas Charlie Brown" and I'm getting such a kick out of it. It seems the kids are a bit older and for the first time I actually grasp the characters and their personalities. It is so cute! Apparently Lucy & Linus are brother & sister and they have a younger brother named ReRun... I relate as the youngest and I also relate b/c I want to get a dog!

ReRun rides on the back of his mom's bike and is worried about running into things. He goes over to Charlie Brown's house everyday and asks "can you ask your dog if he'll come out and play?" and ReRun gets "fired" (as he called it) from Kindergarten because he said to another little girl "let's go to Paris" so he got 'fired' for harassment. Spike, Snoopy's brother from Arizona comes with his cactus, has a mustache and hat (he looks Hispanic!)

I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown! centers on ReRun, the lovable but ever-skeptical younger brother of Linus and Lucy. It's Christmas vacation and, as usual, ReRun's big sister is stressing him out, so he decides to turn to his best friend, Snoopy, for amusement and holiday cheer. However his faithful but unpredictable beagle companion has plans of his own, giving ReRun reason to ask Snoopy to invite his canine brother Spike for a visit. When Spike shows up, it looks like ReRun will have a dog for Christmas after all... but then the real trouble begins.

How Rude

I've dealt with some rude people this last week and inspired the following...
First, let's review the definition of RUDE: 1. discourteous or impolite, esp. in a deliberate way 2. without culture, learning, or refinement 3. rough in manners or behavior; unmannerly; uncouth.

so I was at work, confined into a small area with just a bar stool for seating. grateful for the seating I used it most of the day. However, a co-worker marches in there and just about takes the stool right out from under me. I wanted to say "who do you think you are? what are you doing?" but this lady (who seems to have some attitude issues, but I'm sure she's working on it) in her self-awareness of her actions she did provide an explanation "this stool used to be in my area, so I'm taking it back"... and to that I say, in the words of Stephanie Tanner, "How Rude!"
In another instance, a recruiter I had been in contact with, in her frustration of a personal decision I made, cut me off on a phone call as I began to say something to her. She abruptly said "ok bye bye," I was left with my mouth open... needless to say, I am no longer dealing with her.

I'm sure everyone reading this has their own endless counts of stories. I'd like to hear them!

Dealing with rude people... unfortunately, it's a fact of life. It's like they leave a bad taste in your mouth. Upon moving to Chicagoland 10 years ago I was shocked at the amount of rude drivers. (I have since learned more defensive driving skills). Having my share of "customer service" work and dealing with the public, it's evident - rude people are everywhere. They are perturbed. They have other issues of their own. When dealing with these "ruin your day" suckers, remember these timely tips:

The aggression they show towards you is 90% an outburst of other frustrations going on in their personal lives. Don't take it personally. Keep your cool (b/c they've lost theirs).
Their anger/ non-courteous is an outward explosion. Or, they've just had bad role models.
Don't let them steal your joy. Don't let them get the best of you.
Be glad you're not them. Their actions are unfortunate.
Be the bigger person. Ignore it if possible. Be sure in your offended state you don't become like them or stooping to their level. It's tempting to want revenge.
On behalf of all the rude people of the world, I'm sure most of them regret their outbursts and would say sorry, but are too insecure/embarrassed/proud to say it to your face.

Rudeness is a bad quality. it can make you loose a job, loose friends, get in car accidents, or should I say road rage... not many good things come from it.

My Dad. He is a man of integrity. He is the same person at home as he is everywhere else. He loves to cheer people up. He is very caring, perceptive, kind, loving, sharing, FUN, funny, an outstanding leader, SMART (and i mean intelligent!)
He lives an admirable life of the TRUE meaning of integrity -- behind closed doors he's the same person in public and with family.

I love him so much. We've become closer over the past few years and I am thankful. My dad is solid, trustworthy, a faithful husband, caring, a generous father, and loving grandfather.
Dad, I bless you! Thank you for putting your family first. It's comforting to know you're always available whenever I may need you. Happy Birthday Dad, I love you!!

or have you ever given off that feeling?
it hurts. I'm sure I've given off this vibe, but it never feels good.
some people you want to avoid. but if someone is, in good faith, trying to be nice or helpful and they're not completely annoying- at least give them the time of day, you know?
I'm usually pretty perceptive with picking up these cues... maybe too perceptive where I back off when it might not be necessary, but at least I'm not always someone who's constantly in someone's face.
so I guess I'll end it on are you being annoying or just brushing someone off?

I really have to give a shout out to Wellsprings. A few things have come up recently that have reminded me of it. I wish I could easily and quickly tell someone all about it.
the basis is forgiving, have no bitterness harbor in your heart. Emotional healing, physical healing, forgiveness, addictions, ... you can call and have people pray with you...
I would guess that at least 85% of the world really, truly would benefit from this. I know of 10 people I've had contact with over the past 3 days that would benefit.
